About Felhurst Advisory

Founded by Kas De Silva, Felhurst Advisory provides fractional CFO/COO and project services to start-up and emerging managers across the alternatives and hedge fund space.

Felhurst Advisory is intentionally boutique, limiting itself to a small number of retained clients at any one time to ensure tailored, high-quality delivery at every stage of a manager’s growth journey.

The idea has been shaped by Kas’ uniquely broad career across the investment management ecosystem. He has worked as a Big Four auditor, fund administrator and valuations specialist, including serving on valuation committees at multi-billion AUM funds. He also brings founder-level insight from launching and operating an open-ended hedge fund structure as COO.

With over 18 years of experience in finance, operations, regulatory compliance, and fund structuring, Kas has held senior leadership roles at prominent firms including Lloyds Development Capital (LDC), Bootstrap Europe, Blackmoor Investment Partners, and Investindustrial. His background spans venture debt, growth equity, mid-market private equity and listed equities.
Kas is a seasoned regulatory professional, having held FCA Approved Person status (SMF 3, SMF 16, SMF 17) covering executive director, compliance oversight and money laundering reporting functions. His regulatory expertise extends across multiple jurisdictions including the UK, USA, Luxembourg and the Cayman Islands — making him uniquely positioned to guide emerging managers through regulatory setup and ongoing compliance.

He specialises in building institutional-grade finance and operations functions from the ground up, enabling new fund managers to meet the exacting standards of blue-chip LPs. His career includes responsibility for the financial oversight of multi-billion-euro fund structures, leading regulatory applications, managing fund launches, system implementations, admin/auditor migrations and operational due diligence processes.

Kas is a qualified director under the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) and and affiliate member of the Luxembourg Private Equity Association (LPEA). He has held directorships for both managers and fund vehicles, blending technical excellence with a pragmatic, hands-on approach to scaling alternative investment platforms.

Kas is a chartered certified accountant and alumni of Warwick University where he studied Engineering and Business Studies.

In his spare time, Kas can be found throwing himself around a cricket pitch (frequently getting injured), helping in the renovation of his 17th century farmhouse or walking in the Kent Weald.
